Bame
Kang & Co.
Bame Kang & Co was established in the mid 90's and presently
has 7 lawyers. The firm is divided in specialist departments within
Corporate & Commercial; Intellectual Property; Property &
Real Estate; Admiralty & Maritime; and Litigation. In each of
these areas the firm has established certain further areas of specialty
as outlined in the list of the firm's areas of practice hereunder.
The firm's team of lawyers mirrors the bilingual (English-French)
and bijural nature of Cameroon in the sense that they are not only
bilingual, but are well versed in the country's existing legal systems,
to wit: the Common law and Civil law systems.
Over the years, Bame Kang & Co. has succeeded in creating close
ties with some key governmental regulatory bodies, examples of which
include, the National Hydrocarbons Corporation; the National Investments
Corporation; the Telecommunication Regulatory Board; and the recently
created Capital Market Commission to regulate Cameroon's impending
securities market.
Cameroon being a member of the Central African Economic and Monetary
Union,(CEMAC), wherein many aspects of commercial, tax, and maritime
laws have witnessed harmonization, has engendered the need for Bame
Kang & Co. to have representations in the various member jurisdictions
of Chad, Gabon, Central African Republic, Congo, and Equatorial
Guinea.
The goals of the firm's clients which spans individual and corporate
entities, are the focus of Bame Kang & Co.'s dedicated team
of lawyers who are ever willing to give incisive advice and insightful
analysis to briefs.
